Worked at Stony Brook University's Writing Center as a writing tutor for two years. Helped students of all ages and majors construct essays, portfolios, resumes, cover letters, personal statements, lab reports, and more. I've taken various rigorous courses in news writing, creative writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading. Working at SBU's writing center taught me how to be a proper tutor--one who doesn't only critique grammar or offer tips, but helps students to fully grasp their ideas or thesis statements and understand what they are writing and who they are writing it for.
